Risk-sensitive dynamic pricing for a single perishable product

چکیده
We show that the monotone structures of dynamic pricing for a single perishable product under riskneutrality are preserved under risk-sensitivitywith the additive general utility and atemporal exponential utility functions. We also show that the optimal price is decreasing over the degree of risk-sensitivity under the exponential class of both additive and atemporal utility functions. © 2009 Elsevier B.V. Coordination of pricing and cooperative advertising for perishable products in a two-echelon supply chain: A bi-level programming approach
In this article the coordination of pricing and cooperative advertising decisions in one-manufacturer one-retailer decentralized supply chain with different market power for channel members is studied. The products are both perishable and substitutable. The problem is modeled as a nonlinear bi-level programming problem to consider both retailer and manufacturer decisions about prices and advert...
متن کاملDynamic Pricing for Perishable Products with Cancelations and No-shows
Abstract Assume that customers are price sensitive, changes in the price of perishable products will bring changes in demand, and business can adjust the perishable products' price to influence the market demand, a perishable products multi-stage pricing model considering cancelations and no-shows is proposed, and the optimal pricing, the optimal expected revenue with the products' initial quan...
متن کاملIntegration of dynamic pricing and overselling with opportunistic cancellation
Abstract We extend the concept of dynamic pricing by integrating it with “overselling with opportunistic cancellation” option, within the framework of dynamic policy. Under this strategy, to sell a stock of perishable product (or capacity) two prices are offered to customers at any given time period. Customers are categorized as high-paying and low-paying ones. The seller deliberately oversel...
متن کاملDynamic Pricing for Nonperishable Products with Demand Learning
A retailer is endowed with a finite inventory of a non-perishable product. Demand for this product is driven by a price-sensitive Poisson process that depends on an unknown parameter, θ; a proxy for the market size. If θ is high then the retailer can take advantage of a large market charging premium prices, but if θ is small then price markdowns can be applied to encourage sales. The retailer h...
متن کاملDynamic Pricing of Perishable Products with Competition
With the development of product development technology and the rapid rise of online retailing, the market competition becomes increasingly fierce. Based on consumer utility function, this article established a two-stage dynamic pricing model and discussed pricing strategies under consumer behavior and market competition. Findings indicate that product quality difference and consumer valuation d...
